Island Education." Same letters, same service, many more resources!
Foundstrument Instrument Finds New Home at RRIE
If you love music, you will really enjoy the "Foundstrument Soundstrument." This project was part of an advanced degree award from a Rhode Island School of Design student
who gathered all items from the trash bins that people put out on the street during trash day. He titled the project the "Foundstrument Soundstrument" since he found all the items that made up
a large instrument that created sounds. The project has been on display at the Children's Museum and has now found a permanent home at RRIE.
So when parents come to visit the Center with their children, they can let the children observe what can be created with other people's trash, and they can make their
own sounds from the Foundstrument. Two of our younger virtuosos in the slideshow are seen making their own music on a recent visit to RRIE. Come on in and let your children play the new Foundstrument
Soundstrument! Also, encourage your children to explore the floor of the Center and find the items that can replicate their favorite portion of the Foundstrument. |
